So with all the new music we doing its good to see the youth take it in cuz they are important for me and X. I love the fans cuz with out that its a wrap, they make us. X: I don’t make music for specific categories or age groups, there is no telling who I am going to reach.Įl: I love the fact that the fans grow along with you. X: Its an experience that has been great and been in the music business, esp Hip Hop this long.Īs far as fanbases go, are you more concerned with going wider by attracting new fans or deeper, strengthening relationships with the ones you have already? How has it been growing with your audience over the years? ![]() Like we got into an exclusive club and now we in it. X: When we ( Brand Nubian) were 1st able to perform at The Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY.Įl: I would have to say when we got signed. Which moment in Hip Hop history is your favorite? You guys have been with Hip Hop during it’s many stages. X: There are so many that I can’t keep up or know who everyone is so I don’t know right now. X: I’ve been listening to Travis Scott, Conway and Westside Gunn and always my old school family.Įl: I listen to a lot of my peers: Monche, Roc Marci, Skyzoo, Bumpy Knuckles pretty much whenever new shit comes of cats I listen to. Who have you been tuning into these days? “I stayed in my own lane that worked for me.” X: Its good and its bad – I don’t get caught up in it too much. What is your opinion on music streaming and social media? I also think keeping up with competition being a fan first and being a listener keeps you fresh and updated and being creative with the bars. X: Its been good, technology has helped with promotion a lot and has made things a little easier than how we had to do back in the day.Įl: With all the technology we have today and social media to promote and spread the word is the best tool we can have to sell ourselves. The album featured guest appearances from Sadat X, J-Live, Organized Konfusion (Pharoah Monch and Prince Po), Mike Zoot & F.T., Asheru, and others. El finally dropped his debut solo album in 2002. The Artifacts first rose to fame with the hit “Wrong Side of the Tracks.” In 1994 their debut album, Between a Rock & a Hard Place released. Above all, is their largest collection of Hip-Hop memorabilia and artifacts in the world. However, it is the pop-up experience their known for. To honor and induct legendary pioneers in all aspects of Hip Hop culture is HHMDC mission. Founded by Jeremy Beaver, owner of Listen Vision Recording Studio in Washington DC. The group sparked a new sub-culture in hip-hop called “backpackers.” El Da Sensei receives special induction into the Hip Hop Museum DC. However, being graffiti artists and hip-hop purists. Him and his partner Tame-One developed a fan base of hardcore hip-hoppers. El Da Sensei stepped onto the hip-hop scene as one half of the Newark, NJ duo, the Artifacts.
